DENTURES
At Bay Dental in downtown Vancouver, we offer dentures to all of our patients who require them. These are the best alternative for clients who have lost all or a considerable number of their natural teeth.
Dentures are a replacement for missing teeth that can be easily removed and put back into your mouth, as you wish. Depending upon each individual client case, each patient may receive full or partial dentures. All of our Vancouver dentures are made from acrylic resin that is sometimes combined with different metals.
We offer two types of dentures at Bay Dental: complete and partial. Complete dentures are used when all the natural teeth are missing from the mouth and need to be replaced with a full set of new teeth. Partial dentures are utilized when some natural teeth remain in the mouth and only some of the teeth need to be replaced. Often dentures can be anchored in place with implants to assist hold them in place.
The process of getting dentures normally needs several visits during a few months. Your downtown Vancouver dental professional will review your oral health and analyze x-rays of your mouth to figure out the best treatment plan. It might be determined that some teeth have to be removed to accommodate the partial or full denture.
Once your dentures have been placed, it take a while to get used to them. The flesh-coloured base of the dentures is put over your gums. Some people have said that they feel weird or that they don’t have sufficient space for their tongue. Other times the dentures may feel loose or tight. These feelings will certainly impact the way you eat and talk for a little while, but over time, your dentures will begin to feel like a natural extension of your mouth. Throughout our preliminary consultations, we will take all steps to ensure your dentures fit comfortably and provide a natural extension of your smile.
Despite the fact that dentures are not real teeth, at Bay Dental, we recommend that you care for them like they are. You must brush regularly to get rid of plaque and food particles before removing your dentures, just like you would with your natural teeth.
And after you have removed your dentures for the night, you place them directly into room-temperature water or a denture cleaning solution. Never use hot or boiling water because it could warp your dentures.
